Introduction to Encaustic Painting Stay-cation: This two-day workshop provides an understanding of foundational skills including: fusing and paint application; materials; collage; scribing; mark-making; safety basics and a bit of history. Working with wax presents so many creative options, but requires steps and practice. Not only will you begin to overcome the hurdles presented in encaustic painting, you will go home with your very own piece of art….and you get to use a torch!
Day 1: Instruction, demo, and experimentation with methods.
Day 2: You’re free to make what you want with my guidance.
Materials included. For a two day class, full class-size registration is required. 5 people max. *no make-up classes for missed instructional days
